Joel Marbella
Joel challenged me to make a “square hole” for a recessed 25mm square Rackham base. So I came up with this design, that assembles the base much like a tiny picture frame. As a side benefit, there is no exposed endgrain anywhere.
Joel gained an Honorable Mention for this mini at the KublaAwards in 2006.
The base is made from Purpleheart wood from Central and South America. The base is magnetized for a recessed 25mm square base.
